About Oregon Bounty
Oregon’s Culinary Landscape
It’s easy to eat your way around Oregon, where wineries dot the hillsides, fields stretch for miles, cattle and lamb graze on grasslands and fish fill the waters. It’s a place where you can learn a vintner’s philosophy on wine while walking her vines, and where farmers arrive at local restaurants with boxes of produce picked fresh for the chef that morning. It’s a place where artisan cheese is as likely to be paired with a handcrafted brew as it is our fine Pinot noir, where mushrooms grow wild and truffles are deliciously savory.
Oregon is one of only a few states able to produce such a variety of culinary offerings, a result of our rich geographic diversity. Oregon features snow-dusted mountains, dramatic river canyons, lush valleys, a rugged coastline, arid plains and fertile fields – all turning out some of the tastiest produce and products around. However, in Oregon it’s as much about the people as it is the products. Oregon’s varied culinary personalities are united by a common philosophy focusing on the fresh, local, seasonal and vibrant flavors of the state.
